Contractor Liability Seminar

Seminar Summary

The traditional project delivery method has changed in recent years. Construction management, design-build projects and incidental design blur the lines between design professionals and contractors so that a traditional Commercial General Liability policy may no longer provide enough coverage.

At the same time, the definition of pollutants is expanding, especially increasing liability exposures in the areas of mold, legionella, silt and sedimentation.

In this seminar, we discussed these new and growing exposures and provided insurance and risk management solutions.

Presenter

Kathleen Moriarty, CPCU, Senior Vice President at Synapse Services, LLC.

Top Takeaways

There are three main points that Kathleen addressed:

  1. For as many exposures you encounter in professional and pollution liability, there are good, cost-effective insurance options.

  2. Every business doing work in contracting, property management and manufacturing faces some exposure.

  3. Mitigation of expenses can be available for costs incurred to address a pollution condition.
