RALEIGH – More than a dozen TriSure employees, representing a third of the firm’s workforce, will participate in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s N.C. Triangle Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 9.
This year, the team expects to raise more than $3,000, which includes contributions from TriSure to match all pledges and donations.
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists working to eradicate the disease. Since its start 25 years ago, the foundation has invested nearly $1 billion in breast cancer research and support services, making it the largest source of non-profit funds dedicated to fighting breast cancer worldwide. The Race for the Cure has become the foundation’s signature fundraiser.
TriSure has sponsored teams in the local Race for the Cure every year since 2002, said Linda Folger, a partner in the firm and a breast cancer survivor.
“Having experienced breast cancer myself, I know how important it is to have access to the information, skilled medical professionals and support services you need to wage a successful battle against the disease,” she said. “All of that requires money. The Komen Foundation does excellent work, and we at TriSure are honored to do our part to help.”
